The Technology skeptics’ Argument

“It is not that schools never change. It’s that schools change very slowly”

Through my reading and tracing to the history of technology at the beginning of the chapter, I noticed that educators always feel unease to use modern technologies in their classrooms .They always complained about the struggle of their students in using them. We as educators can’t deny the revolution and change that happened in our classes’ cues of technology and its impact. However, depending on technology in teaching has many limitations and boundaries, as in my country we can’t afford enough computers to our students and we also don’t have a trained teachers who can help students to carry on their learning with the help of different kinds of technologies. On the other hand, what I have noticed here in Harrisonburg is there is sort of over-use of technology in some classes which automatically minimize the role of the teacher. The question here is can technology function better than human interaction? I believe that a good teacher can’t be replaced by technology .But with the help of technology he can make learning interesting an effective experience to his students. Another advantage of it is make students responsible for their own learning and be

active member in the learning process. Learners will be producers rather than receivers

The WebQuest is an educational tool that provide collaboration and engagement in the learning process. It's a different way to teach students and allow them to participate in  group work to achieve a cretin task. The teacher will provide the information to the students and give them time to work and create rather than search .

Through students work and collaboration the teacher can assess their work.He/she assess the individual work for each student as well as his work in the group. An interesting WebQuest I found and is related to my internship is in this link  http://zunal.com/conclusion.php?w=138413.It summarise the novel "Hungry for the Hungry Games" in an interesting way

Q How does teaching/learning change when technology becomes part of experience ?

Technology can definitely change both teaching and learning in a positive way. We as teachers can use technology to facilitate our work and make  it  easier, attractive and efficient. Through technology we can upgrade our students knowledge and experiences by adding more information to them through blackboards, wikis and blogs. Teachers can simply post many topics related to their subject matters and ask students to read and comment on them. This creates a very high sense of engagement outside the traditional classrooms. Students also  can benefit from technology and  get rid of the traditional way of enrollment in their classes. As they can register and attend classes online. This overcomes the geographical limitation that students can face in regular education and it also guarantee a high level of flexibility that allow students to choose classes that they really interested in them .

Q What do you want to know more about or what will you keep in mind as you continue to learn and grow as an educator?
I would like to learn how can i design educational games, videos and CDs. I would also like to know how can I create learning applicable activities in and how can I engage my students in online projects with international

Q:What interested you about the way technology was being used at the high school
Our visit to the high school was very unique and excited experience to me .The school is very well equipped with many and different advanced technology devices used inside classrooms. The use of technology devices in all classes impressed me a lot, but as a teacher of English the use of ipad in an English literature class was quite interesting .Along with that is the use of Rosseta Stone software in the language lap to learn and master different languages and skills. I was very surprised to know that students are responsible of their own learning and progress and the role of the teacher is to guide and monitor them. I noticed that students were highly motivated and interested while they were studying
